    Purpose of the Job:


    Reporting to the IT Director – Solution Delivery & M3, this is a key role with the M3 Centre of Excellence team with primary responsibility for the support, maintenance and development of the Infor M3 ERP system.  This role is the “go-to” person in IT for all things M3, providing thought leadership and guidance for M3 related issues and projects.  Taking ownership and responsibility for the speedy resolution to user issues, whilst being the lead resource for inhouse development and enhancement projects within the M3 environment.


    In addition to M3, this role is responsible for all SQL environments and databases for the maintenance and resolution of issues as necessary to ensure maximum system availability, included associated technologies and interfaces with other business critical systems such as Manhattan WMi applications.


    Subject matter expert for M3 & SQL related projects and enhancements, providing in-house development skills whilst ensuring that all activities follow industry best practice and comply with company internal audit and regulatory (SOX) controls.


    Working alongside other members of the M3 CoE and the wider EMEA IT Team, providing thought leadership and guidance in M3 & SQL and may require managing of external resources such as 3rd party support providers or technical consultants.


    The ideal candidate would also have proven technical team leadership skills, with a desire to provide day to day management of the M3 CoE Technical Team.


    Principal Accountabilities and Key Tasks:


    Subject matter expert and lead technical support specialist to provide day to day support, maintenance and development of existing and future M3 & SQL environments within ACCO Brands Europe. 


    Lead technical development and solution design resource for IT projects such as M3 enhancements, server migrations / data base enhancements and upgrades. 


    Identifying and leveraging the system capabilities of M3 & SQL to assist with the resolution of business related issues or provide insight into process improvements, championing new ideas where relevant.


    Routine maintenance will include daily checks to ensure system availability and peak performance.


    In the event of a system failure the jobholder will be required to carry out the necessary troubleshooting and recovery actions in order to correct the issue or bring the service back on line in a controlled and efficient manner.  This may include working out of normal office hours as necessary.


    Maintenance of all system and technical documentation in relation to the M3 & SQL environments, for support and audit purposes.



    Alignment with ACCO’s Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory controls for IT, system and data compliance.


    Maintaining knowledge of industry trends and new technologies to help develop ACCO’s capabilities as necessary.


    Whilst the primary purpose of this role is focussed on Infor M3 and Microsoft SQL and its associated technologies, the candidate will be expected to become involved in other technologies and applications as required to support the ACCO European business.  Examples of these other technologies include  Manhattan Wmi, Microsoft SharePoint, IIS, JAVA, .Net, HTML.

    Posting Qualifications


    • Technically proficient and hands-on in M3 technologies and components, including development skills in MEC, LCM and GRID
    • Good working knowledge of M3 business processes around supply chain fulfilment, finance (order to cash) and manufacturing
    • In-depth and proven hands-on experience of database management, development and support using various technologies include Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and DB2
    • Awareness of associated tools relevant to the role and that could be of use to the team and wider business, such as IIS, .NET, SharePoint, Java etc.
    • Relevant professional qualifications in Infor M3 and Microsoft database technologies, data warehousing and best practice

    In addition, the ideal candidate should also have:

    • An education to degree level or have equivalent industry experience.
    • Proven project delivery experience, and exposure to project management methodologies
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Be flexible team player with a positive “can-do” attitude to their work



    This role is office based at the ACCO UK Office in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire with very occasional travel to other sites if required in the completion of duties or project work.  Travel to non-Aylesbury locations will be limited and subject to reasonable advanced notice.


    Due to the nature of this role and the business-critical nature of the technologies that it supports, there is a responsibility for ensuring that the databases are available prior to office core hours.  Therefore, the standard working hours for this role is 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday.


    A flexible approach to working outside of these hours is required to provide out of hours support, or for holiday / sickness cover.


    A full, clean driving license is essential.
