Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the IT Director – Solution Delivery & M3 Centre of Excellence, the IT PMO Manager will be joining a newly created Project & Portfolio delivery team supporting IT project managers in the governance and coordination of IT projects, following the ACCO Global IT Project delivery methodology.  They will monitor and support in-flow projects within the portfolio, ensuring that the governance, methodology and reporting requirements are met at all time whilst providing visibility and oversight to the IT Leadership Team


The PMO Manager will create and maintain a library of standard templates and reusable project documentation, creating management reporting dashboards and support the IT Director – Solution Delivery in the portfolio planning, resource management and financial budgeting processes


This role will become the regional expert on the ACCO Brands project methodology, providing support and training to the regional project teams as required.  The PMO Manager will ensure that regional projects are correctly represented at the global PMO review meetings through accurate status reporting, decision tracking and financial management.


As this role will be supporting the IT Projects across the EMEA region, regular (monthly) travel to ACCO locations is to be expected


Principal Accountabilities and Key Tasks:



  • Liaison between European IT Governance and Global IT Governance.
  • Assist the IT Leadership team with the budgeting process and tracking budgets.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of supporting procedures and processes.
  • Assist with responding to information requests from partner and other internal and external parties.

Project Management

  • Partner with Leadership to prioritise and select projects based on business case strength, strategic alignment, project risk and organisational capacity.
  • Manage allocation and proactive forecasting of project/program resources within portfolio.
  • Provide reporting & oversight, set standards, provide training and guidance for all projects/programs.
  • Serve as key participant in team and meetings, facilitate team meetings effectively; hold regular status meetings, keep team well informed of project and scope changes, deliver engaging, informative, well organized presentations and resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Act as a liaison to help fairly settle project-related contractual and customer satisfaction issues.
  • Administrative support to the IT project managers in areas such as
    • Status reporting
    • Project meetings (scheduling, coordinating etc.)
    • Proactive Risk & Issue management
    • Preparation for Stakeholder & Steering Board reporting submissions
  • Data analysis and project budgetary reporting
  • Alignment to Global PMO Methodology, support the PM’s and ensuring compliance at all times
  • Portfolio reporting and dashboards
  • Creation and reporting of project performance indicators for reporting into the IT Leadership Team
  • As a US-owned global company, adherence to SOX & ITGC compliance standards at all times is expected

Posting Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree in project management, business, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstration of strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to stakeholders with varying levels of technical capabilities
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and individuals in a matrix organization
  • Excellent project management skills to lead teams directly and indirectly and can effectively juggle multiple priorities while delivering timely business results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment with diverse personalities. Ability and experience to influence and drive change without direct authority.
  • Process driven, strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • In-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of project and program management planning. 
  • Hands-on experience program management experience.  Demonstrate successful experience in managing multiple large-scale projects. Experience rolling out large, global programs.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Visio, and Project.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities in company requirements, and purchasing timeline.
  • Ability to influence other to act through informal leadership skills. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.
